Ashy Redbacks are part of the Yarra Junior Football League.
We are a friendly and inclusive club with teams ranging from Under 8's to Under 17 Colts in boys and Under 13's, 15's, and 18's in the girls competitions.
Join us on Saturday 13th August at the Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club for an exclusive luncheon where you can hear from Rosie Batty and understand how we, as a footy club, can stand together and support the campaign to end family violence in Australia.
You will be provided a unique opportunity to ask Rosie questions first hand, and learn about her Never Alone campaign and the five step plan to fix family law in our country.

Huge congratulations TO
For those members that are yet to meet Harrison, allow us to introduce you. He’s a super talented footy player, comes from a great family (parents, Andrew and Tracey, sister Elly) and is a loyal member of the Ashy Redbacks.
The Committee recently received a note from Harrison asking for our support.
“…….Thanks for giving me the opportunity to discuss my recent selection in the Under 15 AFL Victorian school boy team. This has been a goal I’ve been aiming for since missing out on selection in the Under 12s Victorian team. The team is made up of 25 boys out of 300 who tried out all around Victoria. After a three-stage trial process that started in March, the team of 25 was selected two weeks ago and I’m very pleased to say that I made the team! The carnival will be held up in Maroochydore, Queensland 23 -30 July and as part of the Victorian team, I will have a chance to play all of the states and territories in a round robin competition”.
Here’s where we need your help.
There is a significant cost to participate in the Carnival (approx. $1,700) which includes uniforms, airfares, accommodation, coaching and education etc. All of this is at each player’s own expense. To help reduce this cost, School Sports Victoria run a raffle to enable the players raise money for some of their expenses. Harrison has been given 450 tickets ($2 a ticket) and if he can sell them all, he will be well on his way to Maroochydore! Harrison’s parents, Andrew and Tracey, are also helping to sell tickets at their places of work and we are now asking the Ashy Redbacks community to get in behind Harrison and to buy a ticket or two.
1st Prize: Suzuki Swift ($23,000)
2nd Prize: A travel voucher ($10,000)
3rd Prize: An LG 139cm curved 3D smart TV ($3000)
4th Prize: A Yamaha Home Entertainment package ($2,700)
5th Prize: A Vintec wine bottle fridge with 100 bottle capacity ($1900)
In addition to the raffle, Harrison is also going to be cooking up a storm on Sunday at Burwood Reserve between 8:30am and 11am and supplying us all with much needed egg and bacon rolls – yum! Selling for $5.00 each, all the profits will go towards Harrison’s attendance at the U15 AFL School Boy Carnival.
Come on Redbackers! Let’s get behind one of our own.
