For those of you that may not have had the pleasure of meeting Marty, allow us to introduce you to him. Marty has been a passionate member of the Ashy Redbacks for many years and has always played an active role in supporting his children, Karly and Aidan, both on and off the field. He has been Team Manager for 4 years and a great friend to many within our Club and within Solway, his local school community.

Sadly, 14 months ago, Marty was diagnosed with stomach cancer and he has been bravely battling this insidious illness ever since. After a bout of chemotherapy, results in late December last year, have shown that the cancer has returned. Once again, Marty faces a huge battle to overcome this horrible condition. 

Marty’s friends and fellow club members are hosting a Golf Day and Fundraising Dinner in an attempt to raise some funds for Marty, his wife Lisa, Karly and Aidan to enjoy a trip away and escape the stresses of cancer treatment.

Please show your support for one of our own in our local football community by attending the day or if you cannot make the event, donating much needed funds or a prize to be auctioned at the event.
